InfObjects shown at V&A exhibition FOOD - Bigger than the plate
from May to October 2019

We are very much looking forward to participating with out project infObjects in the show Food - bigger than the plate at Victoria and Albert Museum London:
"From gastronomic experiments to urban farming, this exhibition brings together the politics and pleasure of food to ask how the collective choices we make can lead to a more sustainable, just and delicious food future."
The show will run from May 18th until October 20th 2019.

German Federal Ecodesign Award – winners and nominees 2018 on show at Designtransfer Gallery Berlin

Our project Bazaar was nominated for the German Federal Ecodesign Award 2018. All winners and nominees are presented within a touring exhibition. After the first show at MIK Karlsruhe the current show is at the UdK Designtransfer Gallery from April 12th to May 22nd 2019. We will shortly introduce our project at the opening.

Design-Talk: White Gold. The Future of Porcelain

As the porcelain and faience department of the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin has been restructured there will be a design talk within the topic of porcelain 'White Gold. Zur Zukunft des Porzellans' on April 3rd at 7pm. We are looking forward to discussing the meaning of porcelain today under the moderation of Claudia Banz and Claudia Kanowski.

Bestiarium on show at the new presentation of the porcelain and faience collection of Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin

We are very proud that our project Bestiarium is now part of the permanent collection of the Museum for Arts and Crafts Berlin. The department for porcelain and faience has been restructured and will open again on March 21st. Bestarium will the be on show for all visitors then with the porcelain pieces and a movie explaining the concept and design process.

Bazaar nominated for German Federal Ecodesign Award 2018 in category concept

Our project Bazaar is among the 24 nominees of the German Federal Ecodesign Award, the Government's highest award for ecological design. We are happy to be selected within the category concept. All winners and nominees are presented within a touring exhibition.

Invitation to Design-Talk: Rethinking Crafts at Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin

On April 5th 2018 7pm we are invited to participate at the new discussion format Design Talks at Museum of Decorative Arts Berlin. Solo exhibition Design Views at Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin

On january 31st 2018 a new series of design events will start at Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin due to the 50th anniversary of IDZ and 150 years Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin. Initiated by the two institutions the idea of Design Views is to present contemporary design from Berlin. We are very glad to be the first ones of more exhibitions to come. We cordially invite you to our opening on january 31st 2018 at 6pm to Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin where we will exhibit our project Bazaar. Thanks a lot to IDZ Berlin and the Kunstgewerbemuseum with Claudia Banz for the kind support and the great opportunity.

One week student workshop 100 years Peter Behrensbau: Unter Strom at HTW Berlin

We are looking forward to offering a one week workshop with design students of HTW Berlin. The projects will focus on the 100 year anniversary of the work of architect and designer Peter Behrens. Based on his innovative approach to design we will offer two courses: one team will be working on Code & Light, the other will deal with developing postindustrial concepts for a ventilator.

Guided tour Made in Berlin with Maria Volokhova at Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin

For the Lange Nacht der Museen 2017 we will offer a guided tour around the collection of the 'Kunstgewerbemuseum' Berlin. Together with our colleague Maria Volokhova we will start from our project Bestiarium and point out parallels to other animalistic objects and artistic absurdities from long ago.

InfObjects in book Food Futures

In May 2017 Gemma Warriner published the book Food Futures: "Food Futures presents a collection of design projects illustrating the possibilities that new technologies open up to designers and the way we perceive food from a design perspective. This book explores current experimentation and innovation in food design from both material and conceptual points of view.The projects selected for this edition have been realized through design, and perform inquiries into our responsibility, our relationship with food and the acts that surround it, and how social and environmental changes will transform the way we experience food in the future." We are happy Gemma chose our project InfObjects to be presented in Food Futures.

Our latest project Bestiarium is published with a picture of the Bestiarium plates in the October edition of AD Magazine.

8th Ceramics Talent Award of the Nassauische Sparkasse 2016 FOCUS: VESSEL

We are very pleased to have won a prize at the ceramic competition Focus Vessel - Vessels in ceramic and porcelain with our project Bestiarium. The award is held by the Nassausche Sparkasse at Keramikmuseum Westerwald. The award ceremony will take place on September 23rd 7pm at the Keramikmuseum in Höhr-Grenzhausen. At the same time that will be the start of an exhibition of selected submissions of the award that will run until febuary 26th 2017.

We are very pleased that our project Bestiarium is published in the editorial The Artist of Elle Decoration Netherlands 09/2015. Thanks a lot to Monique van der Reijden and Joyce de Haas of Dutch Styling Company for the wonderful installation!

Guided tour Porcelain from another perspective at Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin

We were invited by the Museum of Decorative Arts Berlin to organize two guided tours within the historical porcelain collection under the theme of From another perspective during the Lange Nacht der Museen in Berlin. Together with porcelain artist Maria Volokhova we will establish connections between first European pieces of porcelain and contemporary tendencies in porcelain design. Our tours will start at 7pm and 10.30pm on August 29th in the entrance hall of the museum at Matthäikirchplatz in 10785 Berlin. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Experimental glass workshop with Cornelius Réer in Nuremberg

Cornelius Réer in Nuremberg invited us to spend three days with him to experience the great craftmanship of glassmaking. We prepared special moulds and ideas that we could try out in the workshop.

Bestiarium exhibited in Auguststrasse during Berlin Gallery Weekend 2015

Starting on May 1st the Gallery Weekend Berlin will take place. We are gladly taking part in this event and together with Maria Volokhova show our new project Bestiarium in Auguststrasse 52 in Berlin. Organizing partner of the exhibition is the ARTWert+Kolloquium of ifa-Gallery Berlin. You are most welcome to join our vernissage on May 1st from 7pm until 9pm. On May 3rd we will present our project in detail as part of the excursion Rundgang of ifa-Gallery.

Presentation of new project Bestiarium at Salone Satellite stand A26

We are looking forward to our participation at this year´s Salone Satellite during the Milan Design Week 2015. From April 14th until April 19th you will find us at stand A26. We will be presenting our latest project Bestiarium that we developed in collaboration with Maria Volokhova. Bestiarium is an experimental collection of porcelain vessels.

SHAPES iN PLAY presents Quelle at Creative Demo Night during MCBW 2015

For the third time the Munich Creative Business Week will take place between the 21st of febuary until the 1st of March 2015. The platform MCBW START UP offers designers and agencies the possibility to directly present their projects. We are glad to participate during the Creative Demo Night on the 24th of febuary between 6pm and 10pm at Literaturhaus München. We are very much looking forward to introducing our latest generative project Quelle.

Collection of hybrid porcelain objects in collaboration with Maria Volokhova

The objects of Bestiarium are the result of an experimental collaboration between the artist Maria Volokhova and our design studio SHAPES IN PLAY. These creatures are representative of the hybridity of our times: they embody analogue and digital technologies and offer organic and generated forms. The end result is a set of useful and decorative objects that provoke as well as proffer: What is real? What is natural? What do we believe?

Soundplotter wins Design Award Ingenious Creation of Zeughausmesse Berlin 2014

We are very excited to be nominated for the Ingenious Creation Award of Zeughausmesse Berlin. Due to the fairs 10th anniversary the task of this year´s call for proposals was the design of an award. Creating an individualized Soundplotter Award that expresses personal congratulations to the laureate convinced the jury. The five nominated works will be presented during Zeughausmesse at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin from 11th until 14th of December.

InfObjects in new Gestalten book Printing Things

Gestalten Verlag recently published Printing Things, a comprehensive book on 3D printing. It covers design applications, the cultural impact of additive technologies and gives an overview on the different 3d printing techniques. We are happy that our project InfObjects is represented as one one of the design examples.

Soundplotter at special show Talente of International Craft Fair Munich 2014

We are gladly chosen to participate in the exhibition Talents of Chamber of Crafts Munich with our project Soundplotter. The special show is a reflection of the ideas of young designers and artists, marked by an experimental use of materials and craft techniques.

SHAPES iN PLAY at Hit the Future during Munich Creative Business Week 2014

We are glad about the opportunity to participate in the Munich Creative Business Week with our projects Soundplotter and Cloudspeaker. SHAPES iN PLAY will be presented at the exhibition Hit the Future by bayern design from Feburay 26th until March 2nd at Alte Kongresshalle München. Curated by Sarah Dorkenwald and Alexandra Weigand the exhibition will present international projects that reflect design as a connecting discipline for contemporary global issues. We will be at Alte Kongresshalle at the 1st and 2nd of March making 3D printing experiencable for the visitors.

SHAPES iN PLAY solo exhibition at SWING Design Gallery

Angela da Silva of SWING Design Gallery invited us to exhibit our work. The title of our solo show is What you get is what you give? and ornamentally explores digital network structures. There will be our latest project Hidden Patterns, Soundplotter and Fabbrica.

Soundplotter as Critics´ Circle Award 2013 to Thomas Heatherwick

To embody music, sound or spoken words within a product is the main idea behind our Soundplotter project. This concept found a very suitable application when the Critics Circle ( section Visual Arts and Architecture) London approached us to design the award for the award show 2013 in London. Consequently we used our Soundplotter software to generate an object that contains the personally spoken congratulation of design critic Corinne Julius to the laureate Thomas Heatherwick:

Participation in 3-week residency Link to Production at Cmielow Porcelain factory

We are chosen by IDZ Berlin and Cmielow Design Studio to participate in the first 3-week porcelain symposium in Cmielow porcelain factory. The project is part of IDZ´s exchange program Berlin-Poland with the aim to connect Berlin´s and Polands creative scene. The workshop has the title Link to Production and invites the participants to interact with the factories infrastructure.

Soundplotter in FRAME Magazine

FRAME Magazine presents Soundplotter as one of its Milan Design Week Highlights and features our project under the title Making None The Same.

Design for integration of a digital organ into existing architecture

Analogous to the functionality of the organ the design was elaborated on the idea of creating a visually sparkling source of sound, in german called Quelle. Based on an algorithm that emits wave-shaped rings of holes various in diameter the picture of a spring was generated. The impression works as a visual reference for the listener and completes the sound experience.

We are happy Blueprint Magazine picked Soundplotter as one of its Milan Design Week 2013 Highlights.

SHAPES iN PLAY at DMY Berlin Milano exhibition Berlin Trails

We are very much looking forward to exhibiting our projects Soundplotter and Fabbrica with DMY Berlin in Milan 2013. The exhibition Berlin Trails will show six Berlin based designers and design studios at HEDRA 3, Ventura Lambrate Via Privata Oslavia 17/3. The exhibition will be open from 9th until 14th of April and present the works within the framework of a labyrinth.

InfObjects at Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne

InfObjects will be on show at the exhibition Singularité at the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne. This years topic of the biennial is empathy.

Soundplotter und Cloudspeaker at Museum für Gestaltung Zurich

Soundplotter and Cloudspeaker will be on show at Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich from Febuary 6th until May 5th 2013. The 3d printed collection from Disseny Hub Barcelona will be hosted in Switzerland for an exhibition called 3D - Dreidimensionale Dinge Drucken.

Workshop and exhibition Moving Materials in Eindhoven

We are looking forward to an exciting day on October 23rd 2012 in Eindhoven during the DDW. Capital D and Material Sense invited us to talk about How 3D printing can change attitudes and to participate in their exhibition with our projects Sounplotter and Cloudspeaker at the Capital D Design Innovation Space. The presentation will then move on to Kortrijk/Berlgium and Lancaster/UK after.

InfObjects at Ljubljana Design Biennial Design Relations

The Museum of Architecture and Design Ljubljana will present its next Design Biennial Design Relations. We are looking forward to the presentation including our project InfObjects.

InfObjects presented at Taste Festival at Direktorenhaus Berlin

From June 1st until June 10th 2012 Direktorenhaus Berlin will host the Taste Festival Berlin. There will be gastronomic experiments and design projects that provoke the senses and make us reconsider our relationship towards food and edibles. We are happy InfObjects will be part of this exciting event.

Our projects Soundplotter and Cloudspeaker are on show at Disseny Hub Museum Barcelona from June 15th until May 29th 2011. Under the big project called Fabrication Laboratory the museum hosts the exhibition and a series of events that engage with the topic of 3d printing.
